Fuji shooters that have moved over from another brand have long dreamed of having the equivalent focal ranges in their lenses. Fujifilm is on a mission to fill those gaps with this lens being a classic example. The new zoom delivers up to 5.5-stops of Optical Image Stabilisation(OIS) to minimise camera shake, especially when at the long end of the focal range. Focusing performance is fast and driven by a linear-motor system to match the AF speeds of the X-Series cameras.

Being both Weather Resistant (WR) and featuring Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) is already worthy of attention.
