Following the success of the X100, Fuji has released the X10, a new premium compact camera to its digital range. Like its popular predecessor, the new X10 sports a robust, magnesium alloy, retro chic body.

Although surprisingly it does not retain the unique hybrid viewfinder of the X100 (it has a purely optical one), it does have some impressive features. It has a new 2/3” 12MP CMOS sensor, advanced EXR processor, a high-definition F2.0 wide-angle and F2.8 telephoto Fujinon 4x manual zoom lens, RAW shooting and in-camera RAW processing and an integrated manual pop-up flash.

The X10 also boasts 1080p video recording, full resolution continuous shooting at 7 frames per second, in camera stabilisation and a
49-point matrixcontrast AF.

The newly developed 2/3” 12 megapixel EXR CMOS sensor produces excellent, sharp images in varied lighting conditions along with the new Optical Image Stabilisation which helps to avoid any motion blur that might occur.

The table below looks at the X10 and other comparable cameras in the market;

Competitively priced in comparison to its big brother - the X100, the Fuji X10 will be giving other cameras in the advanced compact market some competition.
