Introducing the new Nikon 1 series, featuring two digital models, the Nikon J1 and Nikon V1. Both cameras share similar specs and have interchangeable lenses.

The 1 series cameras have 10.1 megapixel CMOS sensor, 3-inch LCD screen and capture 1080i60 movies, they also boast the new Smart Photo Selector mode, which enables the camera to take five frames for every one you shoot, and present the best.

The V1 is the higher end model of the two , with a larger, more robust body of magnesium alloy, a mechanical shutter and electronic viewfinder. It also has a slightly higher resolution LCD screen than the J1. The J1, on the other hand, is more compact and comes with a built in flash.

    Quality

The V1 has a nice quality feel about it. The controls are easy to use and the image quality is good. If it had a touch screen it would be the perfect camera for me but overall I am happy with my purchase.
