18 Megapixel CMOS Sensor & Dig!c 4 Image Processor – 18.0 mega pixel Canon-developed CMOS sensor, combined with fast processing thanks to Canon’s Dig!c 4 image processor, ensures you capture superb image quality with low noise and natural colour for both still photographs and Full HD movies.
Incredible Image Detail In Low Light - Standard ISO (100-6400) and expandable to an incredible H:12800 allows you to use higher shutter speeds so you can shoot handheld in low-light situations and still achieve sharp shots.
High Resolution 3” Vari-angle LCD Screen - 3.0” Wide 3:2 ratio (1,040,000 dots) LCD screen for great image previews and composition. Screen flips out and rotates allowing you to shoot up high such as when shooting over crowds, or easily compose low-angle shots.
Live View – Features Live, Quick & Live Face Detection AF modes. Allows you to frame still or video shots using the LCD screen in real time rather than the viewfinder, similar to a compact digital camera. Very helpful for unusual shooting positions such as holding the camera overhead; also great for critical manual focusing when performing macro shots.
Sharp Focusing – High-speed, precision 9-point all cross type AF for ultra sharp images. You can manually select any of the 9 points to ensure correct sharp focus.
Continuous Fast Shooting – capture images at 5.3 frames per second. Great for sports, wildlife, kids & pets.
HDMI Mini Output – Output stills and video in full High-Definition to a HDTV using a mini HDMI cable (sold separately)
Live Face Detection AF Mode – In Live View mode focuses on detected human faces rather than other objects that might appear in the frame.
Auto Lighting Optimiser – if the image comes out dark or the contrast is too low, the brightness and contrast can be corrected automatically.
Auto Correction Of Lens Peripheral Illumination – when enabled automatically corrects peripheral light “fall off” when using some lenses (JPEG only). For RAW images correction can be done in supplied software.
Movie Crop - An SD quality movie can be cropped to the equivalent of approx. 7x magnification of regular shooting
Self Cleaning Sensor – prevents and automatically removes tiny dust particles resulting in cleaner images.
SDXC* Memory Card Compatible – takes ultra-high capacity SDXC cards so you will be future-proof and have plenty of storage for Full HD movies which create very large file sizes.
RAW file format – file format that allows greater adjustment of various camera settings on your computer after you have captured your images, without losing image quality, such as adjustment of colour balance, exposure, etc.
In-camera RAW Processing – Shoot your images in RAW format and then process them in-camera and export them as JPEG images. This way you can shoot in highest quality and then export your images for use without needing a computer to post-process them.
Creative Art Filters - Apply creative filters to images for an added effect: Soft Focus, Toy Camera, Grainy B&W and Miniature effects are available.
External Microphone Jack - Add an additional microphone for better quality sound using the 3.5mm stereo jack socket.
Lenses – wide range of compatible Canon EF & EF-S lenses as well as third party lenses such as Tamron and Sigma.
A new addition to Canon’s DSLR market, the 60D replaces the previous EOS 50D model. While it retains the DiC!C 4 Processor of its predecessor, the 60D also features an 18megapixel CMOS sensor, HD video capabilities and a 3 inch articulated LCD screen.
The design is smaller and noticeably lighter, as it made from plastic rather than magnesium alloy. The 60D has also been simplified as far as the controls are concerned.
This is the first of the EOD cameras to offer an articulated screen, this allows for great versatility when shooting more obscure angles. The HD video has complete manual control an there is an HDMI cable output so that videos and photos can be shared easily via any compatible HD TV.
